DISCOVER 5 NEPAL SIGHTS BEYOND THE HIMALAYS

The Asian country with a population of 28 million people is well known for being home to mountain complexes such as the Himalayas. Many people visit the country to venture into the famous attraction. The Nation, however, offers much more than just mountains.

NEPAL SIGHTS:

THAMEL NEIGHBORHOOD, IN KATHMANDU:

Right in the country's capital, Kathmandu – the gateway for many foreigners – there is a very active cultural life.

In the Thamel district, an important commercial center in the region, tourists who like to buy souvenirs for their family are delighted. There are several clothing and sundry shops on site.

In addition to being a shopping-friendly space, the neighborhood also has many restaurants and bars that offer cover performances. Perfect for those who want to taste some of the local cuisine on the busy nights of Thamel.

BOUDHANATH STUPA:

Another interesting place to visit in the capital is the Boudhanath Stupa, a Buddhist monument recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site.

Stupas are monuments that used to house relics and, according to belief, help to bring harmony to the space in which they are inserted.

This particular one, that of Boudhanath, is one of the largest in the world. Many come to her to perform their prayers, which are given when walking around the Stupa and turning the cylinders clockwise.

A great attraction for those who enjoy a religious tour or are interested in architecture.

MONKEY TEMPLE IN KATHMANDU:

Still in Kathmandu, it is possible to visit the Monkey Temple or Swayambhunath. It gets its name because, according to Wikipedia, there lives a colony of monkeys.

The site is a religious complex that includes both Buddhist and Hindu temples. In fact, Hinduism is the largest religion in Nepal.

In addition to the temples, there is also a library, a Tibetan monastery and a museum at the attraction.

BAKTAPUR CITY:

Close to the capital is the city of Baktapur, one of the most preserved in the country. Baktapur is home to Pottery Square, Thaumadi Square and Dattatraia Square. Visitor Visa in Australia

At Pottery, the visitor has contact with the production of traditional ceramics. In Thaumadi, it is possible to visit some very beautiful temples. At Dattatraia, in turn, the visitor has the experience of visiting several open-air museums.

POKARA:

For those who enjoy greater contact with nature, Pokara is a mandatory destination.

Much quieter than the capital in terms of noise, the city is home to the Iago Fewa River, a giant Buddha statue and hiking trails for both beginners and the more experienced.

In addition, it is possible to practice extreme sports on site, such as kayaking and rafting.
