How to get Student Visa to Singapore?

Student Visa to Singapore

Recognized for national investment in education, Singapore offers a range of high-quality academic courses to international students. Furthermore, immigration requirements to study in the country are remarkably simple, even if you need a visa to enter Singapore.

Do I need a visa?

To study in Singapore, you will need a Student’s Pass, or “student pass”. Some students also need a visa in addition to the pass. The application process for a student pass is the same for those who do and do not need a visa; the only difference is that if you need a visa, you will have to get a pass while you are still in your home country. Students who do not need to can go through the pass process already in Singapore.

 Students need a student visa to enter Singapore.

Registration must be made electronically via the Student's Pass Online Application & Regustration (SOLAR) website. Once admitted, your Singaporean institution will need to give you a SOLAR number so that you can enroll in the pass before you travel. The process requires the payment of two fees:

Processing – The ICA (Immigration & Checkpoints Authority) charges a visa application and processing fee of S$30*.

Insurance - When you withdraw your step to pass through the immigration entry into the country – Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) – you must pay an insurance fee of S$60 and an additional S$30 for a multiple-entry visa for some nationalities.

Singapore Institute of Higher Education

All international students admitted to a full study program at a Singapore Higher Education Institute must apply for the student pass online via the SOLAR system. After completing the form, your institution will submit your application to the ICA for you. If it is accepted, you will only need to go to an ICA office to pick up your pass.

eForm 16

Your email;

After filling out eForm 16, you should print it for when you get your pass from the ICA. Visa processing time is ten days. To know more about visa

IPA and additional requirements

If your application is accepted, you will receive an “In-Principal Approval” (IPA) letter from the ICA for your institution. Your visa will be incorporated into this letter, which will serve as a provisional pass until you pick up the officer at an ICA office; if you need a visa to study in Singapore, the letter will allow you to enter the country.

Some universities, such as Nanyang Technological University, will ask you to undergo a medical examination before starting your studies. If your course lasts longer than six months, you will be required to undergo a mandatory medical examination by the institution, which will result in a medical report that you will need to submit to the ICA when you pick up your pass.

To pick up your pass at the ICA, you need to bring:

Valid passport and copy of the page with personal information;
Boarding/disembarkation card received upon entry into Singapore;
A recent color photo the size of in your passport with a white background;
A signed, printed copy of eForm 16;
A copy of your IPA letter;
A recent medical report (maximum three months);
Payment of fees.
